faith like a child (#15)

One of my greatest joys is witnessing my kids (my church kids) worship.  And tonight I got that opportunity.  I walked into choir practice this evening (for kindergarten through 4th graders) and saw them worship God with all they had.

This coming Sunday is Children's Sabbath and to celebrate our kids are helping lead worship.  Some are saying prayers, others reading scripture, and most of them are singing at both of our services.  They got extremely excited tonight when Ms. Beth (our children's choir director) told them Jerry (our contemporary worship leader) invited the kids to help him lead worship.  They started beaming!  But they got even more excited when they heard the songs.

Two of the worship songs their helping lead this Sunday are I Am (by David Crowder) and Build Your Kingdom Here (by Rend Collective).  Ms. Beth and I played these tonight for the kids.  My favorite moment was when they got to the chorus of I Am- the kids let lose.  Every kid in the room was singing and they were worshipping as they did.  It was beautiful.

Hearing my kids worship tonight is something I will not forget for years to come.  I love how their faces lit up and they sang their praises with loud voices.  It was glorious.

So thankful for the gift of working with God's children and for witnessing the faith of a child.
